Hey there! I'm Cam, and I'll be honest with you right up front. I'm not a direct seller and I never have been. I've never hosted a party, or built a thriving downline.
So why would I write a newsletter for this industry?
I grew up with the network marketing world. My dad has worked in operations at MLM companies for as long as I can remember. I feel connected to the industry even though I decided to follow a different path.
I spent so much time at annual conventions meeting distributors who treated me like family, who showed me their passion for growth. The energy levels captivated me. Those conventions are some of my funnest memories growing up.
But, I also saw the challenges. The late nights, the rejections, the constant need to stay ahead of new trends. Not just from distributors, but my dad too as an operator in the industry. My take?
The direct sales community is filled with some of the most genuine, hardworking people I have ever met. People who deserve every advantage possible to succeed.
Here's why I'm really here:
To be frank, I work in FinOps at a SaaS company managing a team of 6. Every day I try to leverage AI to improve my efficiency and effectiveness at my job and for my team. I personally have become obsessed with it, and I want to help educate others about it so they can see similar benefits.
(Oh, and “FinOps” means Financial Operations… exciting, right? RIGHT?! 😉)
So, I decided to do something about it.
For me, this newsletter isn't about making money, it isn’t about selling. It's about creating something, trying something that I’ve never done before, and helping those in an industry and community I care about receive the same value and impact from AI that I am.
It's about showing you that AI isn't just for Silicon Valley, it's for the single mom building her business around her kids' schedule. It's for the retiree who wants to stay up to date. It's for anyone who's ever felt like technology was passing them by.
And you know what? It’s pretty exciting too! Once you have your first ‘ah-ha’ moment using AI, you won’t go back.
I'm learning too, by the way.
Every day I am trying to increase my use of AI and hone my skills. Not just in practice at my 9-5, I study 🤓. I study the top content creators in the space and stay current with all new features and releases. I actively test new use cases and applications.
Because here's what I believe:
