Hey there!

Disclaimer: This week’s edition might feel a bit basic or silly to you, but to me it’s vital before next's weeks edition where we breakdown how AI (LLM models) works at its core. (remember: it’s simpler than you think!)

As a reminder, this foundation series is purposefully beginner friendly!

Nevertheless, you should still read to the end! I drop a truth bomb that must be understood from the start.

Last week I told you why you shouldn't ignore AI. This week? We're doing exactly that. Today, you're going to take action.

But first, I am going to make an assumption.

My assumption is that you have already tried ChatGPT in the past. Maybe more than once. I myself tried it back when it first got widely popular. Did I continue to use it? Of course not, but I certainly do now!

It doesn’t matter when you last tried ChatGPT (if you have at all!), or how you used it. What’s important is that you use it today.

If you've tried ChatGPT before: Welcome back! 😉 I know it might feel like "been there done that, it’s a neat party trick," but trust me, the tools available today are lightyears beyond what you experienced last. It's worth another look.

If this is your first time: Perfect timing! You're jumping in when AI tools are finally user-friendly enough for everyone. No tech background needed, just curiosity and a bias for action.

STAY WITH ME, YOU CAN DO THIS!

Note: If you haven’t already ready the previous Foundation editions, please do so and come back to this! These have been carefully planned in order for new readers of the newsletter so I highly recommend reading through all previous issues before continuing. You can find them here.

Also, if you find this newsletter helpful please share it! The more readers I have, the better I can curate this educational content to you!

Step 1: Get ChatGPT (It Takes 2 Minutes)

If on your phone:

  • Go to your app store

  • Search "ChatGPT"

  • Download the app with the OpenAI logo

  • Open it and create a free account

    • I recommend using your gmail or apple account for seamless security!

If on your computer:

  • Click "Sign up"

  • Create your free account

    • I recommend using your gmail or apple account for seamless security!

  • You're ready to go!

That's it. Seriously.

Step 2: Try One of the Following Prompts

Copy and paste these exactly as written. Don't change anything yet, just see what happens.

Prompt #1: Social Media Content Generator

Act as a content marketing expert. I need 5 social media posts for my network marketing business that don't sound salesy or pushy. My target audience is [describe who you want to reach; like busy moms, young professionals, etc.]. Make them feel authentic and helpful, not like advertisements.

Replace the brackets with your actual situation.

Prompt #2: Objection Handler

Act as a sales and negotiation expert. I keep hearing the same objections in my network marketing business: ["I don't have time", "I'm not a salesperson", and "Those things are pyramids."] Can you help me create natural, conversational responses that address these concerns without being defensive or pushy?

Replace the brackets with your actual situation.

Prompt #3: Your Personal Business Coach

Act as a personal business coach. I'm a network marketing distributor selling [insert your product offering]. I've been struggling with [specific challenge you're facing — like follow-ups, prospecting, or team motivation]. Can you give me 3 specific strategies I can implement this week, along with exact scripts or examples I can use?

Replace the brackets with your actual situation.

What's Going to Happen

When you try one of these prompts, ChatGPT is going to give you detailed, personalized responses.

These three prompts are extremely basic, and usually the limit of what people are willing to try. You will not be making that mistake, this is an exercise with the sole purpose of using AI.

This is a good time for me to mention: stay tuned for next week’s newsletter where I break down how ChatGPT actually works.

My Challenge to You

I want you to try all three prompts before next week's newsletter (hint: put each prompt in its own chat). Then reply to this and tell me:

  • Which prompt surprised you most?

  • What response did you not expect?

Remember: You're not behind, you're early. Most direct sellers aren't using AI yet, and if they are, they stop at prompts like the above. This is your chance to get ahead.

But Cam, I’ve already used ChatGPT before and tried prompts similar to this, it hasn’t transformed anything for me

Great! I’m glad you’ve been using AI! This is primarily for anyone who hasn’t yet.

Don’t worry, we are going to talk about efficient and effective AI use in the coming weeks, and we’ll talk about how to improve its outputs. If you’ve tried ChatGPT and found subpar results I know exactly how you feel.

To be an advanced AI user, you need to understand how it works, its strengths, its weaknesses. The biggest ‘unlock’ I want you to have this week is:

There are no real shortcuts to becoming great at AI. The power is in the user, and you need a base level understanding to build on. Don’t fall for the “this single prompt will change your life” slop content. Don’t spin your wheels trying to replicate someone else’s “success”. You need to be behind the wheel driving improvement for yourself, no one else can do it for you. To get behind the wheel, you need to understand foundational principles.

You got this,

Cam

P.S. If you get stuck or confused at any point, just reply to this email. I read every response and I'm here to help!
